Washington’s Long Beach Peninsula is famous for its weekend festivals, events, concerts and celebrations. But don’t forget about the rest of the week – savvy travelers can skip the lines and save some coin with midweek lodging reservations, meal deals and entertainment options across the peninsula.
A handful of hotels offer reduced midweek rates, so visitors can spend more on their play and less on their stay. Chautauqua Lodge in Long Beach offers three nights for the price of two on Sunday-to-Thursday lodging through September. Mention its website midweek special, and Breakers Hotel in Long Beach will offer a $99-per-night bedroom or kitchenette unit Sunday through Thursday, although the special is invalid Aug. 1-24.
The Adrift Hotel in Long Beach offers 20-percent off rooms Sunday through Thursday. Salt Hotel in Ilwaco offers 15 percent off its two-night, surf-and-stay Sunday-to-Thursday package; the deal includes a surf gear rental for two people. Enchanted Cottages in Seaview will cover sales tax and wave room cleaning fees for Monday-to-Thursday bookings between Aug. 24 and Sept. 30. Mention that you read about the deal in this blog to take advantage of the savings.
Visitors planning larger gatherings on the Long Beach Peninsula can save dollars by booking special events like weddings, nonprofit functions and business retreats midweek at The Shelburne Inn in Seaview. Rental prices for large midweek events, including lodging and breakfast, cost hundreds of dollars less than weekend event bookings. The Shelburne also offers a 10-percent discount for Sunday-Thursday lodging – mention that you learned about the promotion through this blog to receive the discount.
Visitors looking to stretch more than their dollars should check out the The Sou’Wester Lodge in Seaview, which offers its guests free yoga on Wednesdays.
Midweek music keeps the Long Beach Peninsula dancing. Check out evening shows at The Pickled Fish atop the Adrift Hotel, and Catch Brian O’Connor playing guitar and singing Tuesday nights in the Shelburne Inn’s pub.
Visitors hungry for deals can chow down on The Lost Roo’s Thursday prime rib special – 12 ounces of prime rib, mashed potatoes and veg for $22. The Depot offers 10-percent discount cards for Tuesday and Wednesday dinner reservations. The cards are available at the Visitors Bureau in Seaview, so beat the weekend rush and dine midweek.
Down Highway 101 in Ilwaco, the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum offers free admission on Thursdays. Fishing charters say visitors hoping to fish Ilwaco’s famous salmon grounds should book weekday trips before Labor Day or make weekend reservations now for the month of September. Cape Disappointment State Park offers free educational programming on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The programs begin at 7 p.m. and are often hosted at the Waikiki and Benson Beach amphitheaters. A Discover Pass is needed to park vehicles.
