ILWACO, Wash. – Big time blues and mouthwatering coastal cuisine will return to Ilwaco for the 12th annual Blues and Seafood festival on Sept. 23 and 24. The party runs from 3:30 to 10 p.m. each day.

Blues legend Jimmy Thackery headlines this year’s Blues and Seafood. Thackery honed his style while playing alongside legends like Muddy Waters and was a member of the Washington, D.C.-based blues and roots rock ensemble The Knighthawks for 14 years. Thackery should take the stage at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Also on stage will be harmonic acoustic blues group Natty Bone, Muddy Award winner for “Best New Act” Bottleneck Blues Band, the local North Coast Blues with

“You won’t want to miss a minute of music over the two days,” said Guy Glenn, Port manager, Port of Ilwaco.

As for the food, smoked oysters and smoked salmon chowder are among this year’s local seafood options. Sample roasted nuts and chocolate-dipped cheesecake for dessert. Wash down the delicious bites with local and Northwest brews and regional wine.

Tickets are available online at Friday tickets are $15 and Saturday $25; a two-day combo ticket is $35. Combo tickets are only available online, but one-day tickets can be purchased at the event.

The two-day bash at the Port of Ilwaco plays out near a picturesque 800-slip commercial and recreational port lined by art galleries, restaurants and more.

Glimpse passing boats, working anglers and Baker Bay from the comfort of the sprawling event tent. This year’s location also features additional parking and expanded views of the Columbia River.
