Holidays are better at the beach. With few crowds, the holiday season is cozy and intimate on the peninsula. Christmas mermaids, a crab pot Christmas tree, and handmade markets are just a few highlights of the season!

Nov. 9: Holiday Art Auction & Oyster Fry

The Chinook Nation will be holding an art auction and oyster fry at the Chinook School gym event center. Native and local artists will be featured. Dinner is served from 4 to 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the door or in advance by calling 360-875-6670.

Nov. 29 – Dec. 1: Peninsula Art Association Studio Tour

The annual studio tour on the peninsula begins on Black Friday, but it’s a thousand times better than fighting the crowds at big box stores. Artists throughout the peninsula open their studio doors just in time to find unique, original pieces for your loved ones.

Celebrations & Festitivites

Nov. 29 – Dec. 1: Holidays at the Beach

A family favorite, Holidays at the Beach kicks off the day after Thanksgiving. Have breakfast with Santa, snuggle up in pajamas to watch the Polar Express, join in crafts workshops, and watch live performances. Check out the full schedule of events and celebrate the holidays with the ocean in view.

Dec 7: Downtown Raymond Lighted Christmas Parade

Bundle up for this annual small town tradition in Raymond! Lighted floats line up along 3rd street. The parade runs from 6 pm to 7 pm. Enjoy warm soup and rolls at New Life Fellowship afterward.

Dec. 7: Crab Pot Christmas

The Crab Pot Christmas Tree in Ilwaco is a quirky and beloved tradition! Gather round for the official tree lighting, crabby Christmas carols, and the world’s shortest fireworks display. Afterward, local businesses open their doors for festivities and treats. The tree lighting is at 5 pm.

Dec. 14: Holidays at the Jetty

Head to North Jetty Brewing for photos with Santa and Mrs. Clause (1 – 4 pm) and shop stocking stuffers from local vendors (12 – 4 pm)! And, of course, pick up something special for the beer lover in your life.

Dec. 14 – 15: Bed & Breakfast Holiday Open House

Local B&Bs open their doors wide to share some holiday spirit! Decked floor to ceiling with festive decor, these inns are downright delightful. Indulge in sweet treats, sparkling drinks, and get to know the wonderful innkeepers. Be sure to bring canned food for the food drive!

Dec. 31: New Year’s Eve Fireworks at Midnight

An annual tradition, the New Year’s Eve Fireworks at Midnight takes place at the Bolstad Beach Approach. Wrap up, bring hot chocolate, and head to the boardwalk for an excellent view.

Christmas Music

Dec 8: Water Music Society Christmas Concert

Enjoy incredible holiday music at Eagle’s Nest in Ilwaco. This year, enjoy the mesmerizing voice of singer Eugenie Jones accompanied by an instrumental quartet. You can get tickets for $10 online or at the door. Champagne and treats included in the reception.

Dec. 14: Tuba Christmas Concert

The Astoria Tuba Quartet plays a selection of holiday music, jazz, and polka each year the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum! The concert is free and open to the public. It’s best to arrive early for a good seat as it is a popular event.

Holiday Markets & Bazaars

 

Nov. 9: Willapa Country Christmas Craft Fair

Local artisans come together for the annual holiday craft fair in South Bend! Find one-of-a-kind gifts that you won’t find anywhere else. Photographer Brian Evans will be on site for Christmas photos as well!

Starting Nov. 25: Saturday Christmas Market at the Port

Saturday Christmas Market at the Port of Ilwaco brings holiday cheer and provides you with the excellent opportunity to shop from the source. The Christmas market debuts on Saturday, November 25, and runs for the following Saturdays up until Christmas (Dec. 2, 9, 16 and 23). The Market’s hours run from 10 am to 4 pm.

 

Dec. 14: Handmade Bazaar

Sou’wester and Adrift Hotel host an annual Handmade Bazaar with local and regional goods. Not only will you find unforgettable handmade gifts, you get to meet talented artists too!
