Coastal Forest Loop at Cape D. Hike

The Coastal Forest Loop may only be a mile and a half long, but there’s so much to see in that time! A structurally complex forest dominated by beautiful western hemlock and Sitka spruce trees shelters a wide variety of other plant life, animals, and more. Master Naturalist Rebecca Lexa will be your guide to experiencing just what this often-overlooked trail has to offer.

The trailhead is located off Spur Road 100. When you come to the four-way crossroads by the cafe, instead of heading right to the campgrounds or straight ahead to the visitor center, hang a left and immediately turn left again into the big gravel parking lot by the road.

While the trail is well maintained, there may be rough spots here and there, so please wear appropriate footwear. Participants will be required to sign a liability form before we embark on the tour and agree to a code of conduct that basically boils down to “be nice to each other, and be nice to the land.”

Ticket covers admission for one person. Gratuities after the tour are optional but appreciated.
